Our guest this week, kicking off our 5 Part Series about Education Systems, is Sara O Ahmed. She is an experienced educator and started her career in education as a preschool manager. In 2013, she co-founded Elm International School in Alexandria, Egypt, focusing on student-centered learning, technology as a tool, and being internationally-minded while locally rooted. She has a Masters of Education in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is pursuing a PhD in Anthropology and Education from Columbia University. She is preparing to release her book “We Need New Education” on K-12 education systems: Where she discusses The History of Education and why the system was designed that way, How Children ACTUALLY Grow and develop, Technology and the world we live in now, and How to shift our education systems to serve the needs of the current social and economic environment.
